Irregular Sail & Sub Run - Sunday, 14 March

Good afternoon all!
We had a fun time out on Xiang Hu yesterday for those who showed even
given the weird mechanical breakdown both Charly & I suffered within
half-hour of each other. My sub somehow managed to come back up again
after every dive & looked menacing in the clear waters while running
at periscope depth. We even had a family down from us with several
fast gas & electric boats who attracted the police's attention -
perhaps it was running the gas boat up on the bank that got the cops
interested... I'll post a few photos once I get them resized.
With next weekend's forecast looking absolutely fantastic: sunshine,
16C temps & nice 11km SW winds, I would like to invite everyone who's
available to come out this Sunday, 14 March, at Sofitel Xanadu for
lunch followed by sailing off the deck behind Zest Cafe. We begin at
noon & will continue through the afternoon until it gets too dark to
see.
It would be great to see as many as we can & I can't think of a better
way to celebrate escaping the cold rains we've dealt with over the
past month. I've spoken with several "irregulars" over the past few
days who already told me they'll plan to be out this weekend,
especially after hearing that in addition to the sailboats, we'll have
a few subs, scale warships & other boats available for all to check
out & run. I plan to bring along several of my winter projects out
for their maiden voyage so you'll want to be there first-hand to see
one or possibly all sink one-by-one after the official christening
(no, these aren't subs).
As always, I've got several spare boats available for those who don't
have their own boat, plus the resort will have their new fleet out so
we should be good to go. For those with little ones, there is an
indoor play room just down the hall from the cafe & we expect to have
a few families join in so it should be a fun mixer for all.
If you are out of town or just looking for a reason to escape for the
weekend, remember the resort has been kind enough to offer a discount
for WLI members. Just be sure to mention you are an "Irregular" when
making your reservation.
For those who can join us please send reply before Thursday so I can
forward a head count to reserve tables outside on the patio. Also be
sure let me know if you plan to be there for lunch or will be coming
by later in the afternoon. Feel free to post here, send me email or
call if you have any questions.

Correction: Date should be Sunday, 15 March, not the 14th.
