Hello Western and Central Region,

It gives me immense pleasure to publish the first Western and Central Region Newsletter. The last two months with our region have only further fuelled my belief that this region has what it takes to make AIESEC relevant to our society.

The Western and Central Region right now is all about LCs that are making their mark in AIESEC India. The growth shown by the region overall has been immense even if not balanced and it only further challenges us as a region to capitalise on it to be all that we can.

The power of our network, which we realised and showcased at JNC, only demands of us that we channel it to allow us to be the best we can be, as an organisation and as youth leaders in our society, above and beyond our LCs. I am genuinely excited to see Regional Initiatives take shape to realise our true potential as a region.

I want to leave you with a simple thought of the power of a network. This message is delivered to you via the internet, which is a network of people all over the world given the power to come together on a platform and look at the impact that has had on our world.

"If we can change the very course of humanity with a network like the internet, then the very least our network can do is make AIESEC relevant to our society"

From Your

Regional Director

Space for Recognition

Navi Mumbai and Surat for conceptualising their own initiatives for the region

(Releasing concept notes soon)

Ahmedabad and Baroda for making maximum use of myaiesec.net over the last 2 weeks to update your TMP / TLP stats.

Pune for taking forward pilot projects right up from JNC and activating TMP / TLP on exchange

AIESEC Indore for hosting Discover India as a seperate conference and AIESEC Pune for providing international facis for the same.

Regional Conferences

Summer Regional Conference:
AIESEC Surat hosted the conference in the best way possible and ensured alongwith the faci team that every delegate had the best experience possible. It was indeed truly a conference to remember.

Discover India:

AIESEC Indore hosted a wonderful conference which has saw around 60 delegates from the West and Central Region from the 10th and 11th of October which was concluded by a study tour through MP tourism.

RYLC 2012:

AIESEC Navi Mumbai is hosting its first ever conference from the 13th - 16th of September, stay tuned for more information on registration links, OC and faci applications.

Regional Drivers

oGCDP:

AIESEC Baroda has raised the highest number of forms since July but even that is only 6 EPs. This becomes a serious concern specially because we are already mid way through recruitment and that leaves us essentially with only a month for raising.

Some key questions are:

How well prepared are we for Q4 to deliver to the exchange cycle?

What are we doing different to produce these different results?

How relevant are we among our youth if we are not providing them with enough opportunities to experience the international network of the organisation?

I thank all LCs again who visited the MC office to work towards better results and output and be better prepared for the Q4 exchange cycle.

Finance:

Are you all updated with the JNC Output:

http://www.myaiesec.net/content/viewfile.do?contentid=10221548

Are you clear about how money is managed in your LC, if not or you want to do it better, have you scheduled your NTT Visit?

Send an email for the same to:

paritos...@aiesec.net

How have you used finance to drive growth across ELD Programs?

Regional Initiatives

(as decided at JNC 2012)

The update on the following is based on the regional initiatives tracker:

Career Fair:
All LCs with the exception of AIESEC Ahmedabad are planning to have a career fair based on MC Conceptualisation and timelines, we should be looking to run the same in September post RYLCs.

Regional ILCEPs

All LCs want to send and receive ILCEPs but only AIESEC Baroda has filled the tracker for the same. Please fill the ILCEP tracker at the earliest.

Regional CEEDs:
The business model for the same can be expected after IC, all LCs have agreed to receive but only 3 have agreed to send.

Mentor / Mentee LCs

You can now opt for exactly which areas you want to be mentored by and whom, deadline for the same is 21st  August 2012.

A lot of you have been in touch with me for initiatives you want to conceptualise on your own, please send in your concept notes for the same by the prescribed deadlines.

LEADERSHIP IS OBSOLETE, BUILD TODAY!!!

Are we leading our organisations or building better organisations?

Who are the builders of our times?

What is the difference between a boss, leader and a builder?

Read all about it here:
