From Ryan: Ryan Madden ry...@nyrenews.org

The Tonawanda Seneca Nation faces an existential threat from the Western New York Science and Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park (STAMP), a proposed industrial “mega site” underwritten by New York State direct and indirect subsidies - including New York Power Authority (NYPA) low-cost hydropower - and facilitated by state permitting and policy.

Join Allies of the Tonawanda Seneca Nation, NY Renews, and supporting organizations for a press conference and rally outside the New York Power Authority's White Plains office ahead of their next Board meeting to uplift the Tonawanda Seneca Nation's demands to stop the allocation of low-cost hydropower to developments at STAMP:

  • When: Tuesday, December 9th at 8am
  • Where: 123 Main St, White Plains, NY 10601

The proposed developments at STAMP, from “green” hydrogen production to massive data centers, not only threatens the Nation, but also threatens New York's landmark Climate Law. NYPA should be a tool for meeting our legally-required climate mandates by building public renewables, not subsidizing corporations at the expense of Nation citizens and New York ratepayers.

We invite you to take action in solidarity with the Nation’s fight to uphold its sovereignty, protect its treaty rights to free use and enjoyment of its Territory, and stop harmful development at STAMP.  Access to subsidized hydropower is the only advantage of the STAMP site for prospective tenants. This precious sustainable energy should never be allocated to industrial tenants at STAMP.
