On behalf of the Lower Hudson Valley Social Forum Planning Team, we are very much looking forward to welcoming you all next weekend!  Final call to register to attend here

We will continue to make puppets at the WESPAC office on Saturday, April 26th from noon to 8pm.  Directions can be found here https://wespac.org/2025/01/23/directions-to-the-wespac-office/

Please note that on Friday, April 25th at noon at Pace Law School in White Plains, we will have the opportunity to hear from Filipa Costa about an inspiring story of community led transformation unfolding in the Cova da Beira Region of Portugal regarding strengthening local food systems.  Filipa and her partner Fernando are joining us from Portugal for the social forum.  Filipa will serve on the food sovereignty panel and Fernando will lead the hands on art workshop during the breakout session on Sunday, April 27th.  All details for Filipa's Friday presentation are here: https://wespac.org/event/strengthening-our-local-food-systems/

That very same evening at 7pm on Friday, we are launching the social forum weekend with a concert for peace and justice at the Community Unitarian Universalist Congregation located at 468 Rosedale Avenue in White Plains, NY 10605!  Details here: https://wespac.org/event/concert-for-peace-and-justice-to-launch-the-2025-lhv-social-forum/

On Sunday, April 27th, please plan to arrive at the White Plains Library municipal parking garage no later than 10:45am!  The library is located at 100 Martine Avenue in White Plains, New York 10601 and you will see signs for parking as soon as you pull in front of the library.  After parking, please proceed to the pavilion area behind the library.

At noon we are providing everyone with lunch!  It will be a great time to informally mix and mingle.  If you signed up to table, you will be able to enter the library with your information materials at this time to set up your space.  The tabling space is in the gallery area on the second floor of the library.  Please note that every group must share table space with another group!

At 1pm, the library formally opens to the public and we will all proceed inside the building!  Our networking session is from 1pm to 1:45pm in the gallery space on the second floor of the library.  There is an elevator inside the library for those who need to use it.

At 1:45pm we will proceed to the auditorium for the opening plenary session which is right next to the gallery space on the same level, second floor.   Please note that we will have two professional Spanish Language translators who will be present for both the opening plenary and the breakout sessions.

The breakout session is from 2:30pm to 3:45pm.  You can choose which session you would like to attend from a children's breakout session, to immigrant defense, to climate action, housing justice, solidarity economy, food sovereignty, a hands on art workshop and Palestine solidarity.  There will be clear instructions at the forum as to how to find your breakout session space!

We will close at 4pm with a brief closing ceremony!  You can find all details posted at wespac.org/wsf

Please do not hesitate at all to reach out with any questions or concerns and see you soon!
