Hi Nada ,
We’re glad to have you in our volunteer community. Here’s your weekly Hilltop Hanover Farm volunteer digest, with upcoming opportunities, a look at what volunteers have been helping with recently, and a few helpful links to stay connected.
We’re excited to launch a new volunteer session this year: Plant Rescue. Every Thursday, we’ll gather in the greenhouse to give extra seedlings a second life. As more community-based growing initiatives take root across our region, we’re thrilled to help support them. Donating high-quality starts to school and community gardens is one way we can help build a more resilient and sustainable future. Our team could use your help getting these plants ready for donation, and along the way, you’ll learn a few greenhouse skills too. Join us as we help grow a better future together.

What Volunteers Have Been Up To

Thanks to your support, Community Farm Work Day volunteers helped care for our Trees for Tribs planting. Together, we protected many of our young and vulnerable trees from deer damage and helped set them up to thrive for another growing season. It is especially exciting to see how this project site has changed over time. Looking back at older Google Earth imagery, you can see how the area west of our greenhouses has gradually shifted from open ground to expanding tree cover.

Our Friday volunteers have also been invaluable in helping us prepare our new mobile tunnels for planting. The farm crew is deeply grateful for the extra hands, and we are optimistic that these new growing spaces will help us increase the amount of food we are able to donate this season. There is something especially satisfying about a freshly prepared bed full of potential.
Thank you for helping us grow good things together.
