Trained in firebending by Master Kunyo and later mentored by Li and Lo, 2 non-bending mentors of the art, the daughter of the Firelord, much like Korra, was vastly acknowledged as a bending prodigy by the age of 9. During the events of the Hundred Year War, she was assigned to hunt down the Avatar, capture him and make sure the Fire Nation's only threat was taken down. For this, she kindly "asked" two old friends as help, Mai a skilled marksman, and Ty Lee a skilled chi blocker. She came close plenty of times, but Aang was somehow able to get away every time, until the battle for Bang Sing Se. There, the Avatar was killed by the princess' lightnging strike (was later revived by Katara's spirit water). At this point, her secret coup had worked, Long Feng was double crossed and the city of walls was claimed by the Fire Nation ensuring the Earth Kingdom's fall. By the last year of the war, Azula kept on playing a significant role in the game. The Invasion plan in the day of the Eclipse failed due to her knowledge (back in Bang Sing Se) and so, the armies were captured and sent to prisons around the Nation. Later, when Azula faught her brother, Zuko in the Boiling Rock, she was smirkling at how he was doomed to death as his gondola was ready to fall. At the sight of this, Azula's "friend" and Zuko's ex-girlfriend, Mai, decided to show up and prevent his death leading to the Princess' outrage. Ruthless enough to punish Mai, she was stopped by Ty Lee. This point marked Azula's decent into insanity and the loss of her unmatched tactical ability. Things just got worse when Ozai refused to take her with him to burn down the Earth Kingdom together under Sozin's Comet leading to her breakdown. Ready to be crowned Firelord, Zuko interfered. Azula challenged him to an Agni Kai for the throne seeing as how she couldn't take both him and Katara down. She almost lost, until she chose to play dirty. Even then, she was tricked into a trap by the waterbender, experiencing defeat. Some years later, Zuko took her out of the institue he had put her into in order to help him find their lost mother. After a difficult journey, they did it, but Azula ran away. Then, 2 years later, she returned having won her sanity (or a part of it) back, and becoming an overall stronger fighter and bender.

Azula was trained by Master Kunyo and mentored by Lo and Li (as already stated) in the art of firebending. She grew up to be a prodigy, and eventually a firebending master who imo, only Uncle Iroh can now straight up beat in an Agni Kai and even that's more spectulation than feats. To start, a notable trait of her bending skill is the blue colour of her flames, which burn hotter than most. Let's get into detail.

Here, we see Aang and Katara running right before Azula shot them. Azula is nowhere to be found. She just suddenly appeared behind them and threw this fire blast, so only way this happened was if she was just running and caught up with them so no time for charging.

As atestament to her mastery over the element of fire, Azula was able to effortlessly keep her fire up for several hours before the arrival of Sozin's Comet. We know other Firelords have done the same thing, but this is the first time we've seen someone being undoubetely able to hold the flames up for so long (arguments could be made before that episode that the Firelords just put the fire on woods or something). Here are links to a couple of videos showing some examples of what I mean:

We know she was actually bending the flames, due to them cooling down and turning orange when she leaves them to just spread unbent (is that a word?) as shown in the Chase. What's more impressive is that she was bending them with limited if any movements, a clear sign of mastery over one's element.

her instant lightning might not be as powerful as her charged one, but it still stands out as an extremely usuful card in Azula's asernal being fast, and essentially a one-shot. Of course Zuko did not get one shot by it here:

Given how this fight takes place during twilight, against a less durable opponent, without an airbender as an allie and with Azula using full power these lightningbolts will certainly be quite the force to be reckoned with and imo, will give Azula her victory. To be clear, I'm not saying Korra will get one shot with a direct attack or anything, but she will in fact be down long enough for Azula to snipe her with a deadly fireball, charged lightning, or other continious instant bolts to KO or kill the Avatar (again) and win.

Azula's reaction speed is also pretty incredible. She has reacted to lightning before (which based on my opponents calc's that also make sense) is amongst the fastest things in the Avatarverse being highily hypersonic. I'll post this here:

Here we see the lightning shooting past a mountain range and into the sky. Now the minimum mountain height is 1,000 ft. but as seen in the picture below these mountains are much bigger than the smaller ones at least 3-4 times their size.

Overall these mountains are at least 3,000 feet tall and the distance between the edge of the mountains and the edge of the screen is slightly greater than the size of the mountains (3,000+ feet). So the lightning moves approximately 6,000 feet in this scan. So after looking at this I checked the amount of frames it took for the mountain to touch the sky. It took in total 9 frames. Now this scene has a frame rate of 25 frames per second which means the lightning moved 6,000 feet in 9/25 of a second. This is aproximately 16,667.67 feet per second or mach 14.9. Now this is based off of estimates and has room for error, the mathematical estimate you can find here comes to about mach 12.3 so slightly less than mine. Obviously this isn't lightning speed but it is highly hypersonic.

During the last year of the war, Azula had to play a significant role in defending the Fire Nation and the Firelord during the invasion. Creator Statement (that I unfortuenetely cannot provide) states that she took private lessons with her fellow friends, Mai and Ty Lee, to be able to defend herself, evade and hold the Avatar off (with the help of the Dai Li) during the Eclipse, where her bending is non-existent. Mai trained her in hidden weaponary and quick draw (as shown when she tried to stab Sokka with a hidden dagger), while Ty Lee trained her to be even more agile than she was, training specifically for evasion. More specifically:

Keep in mind though, that those are just a small example of what she really did in that fight/chase. Most of it took place off-screen as we were also watching parts of Zuko's confortation with Ozai as well as parts of the invasion with Katara, Sokka and Hakoda.

All I can say about this, is that Azula's endurance is based on feats above most people in the Avatarverse, and Korra is not one to be above. Here's the link to her Agni Kai with Zuko/fight with Katara under the comet:

Essentially, this is around 10 continious minutes of Azula using her own chi energy to create building sized fire blasts and charge insanely explosive lightning. Only people I can think of with comparable stamina feats are Ozai (fight with Aang), and maybe Toph (library and cave feats).

Azula might not seem like it but she is actually pretty durable. I don't know if she is as durable as Korra or more, but she is quite comparable the least to say (she wasn't tagged many times in battle to have as many feats as the Avatar).

Azula is extremely skilled in unarmed combat, being able to go toe to toe or beat plenty of opponents, some of them imo, more established than Korra on the department. Korra's best feat, is getting the upper hand/beating the Lieutenant, who I dare say, is not at all as impressive as Suki or Ty Lee, and apart from his Kai Sticks doesn't exactly have any notable h2h skill unlike 2 hard trained Kyoshi Warrior leaders also skilled in Chi Blocking.

Only reason someone would think Korra can beat Azula in unarmed combat is striking prowess and physical strength. However, those are non-factors when Azula has her bending. Her firebending will be great for CQC and if this fight turns out that way, I'd say it's a definite victory for the the firebending master:

This is one of Azula's most significant advantages in a fight with Avatar Korra so I made it in a special section. You see, the Fire Nation Princess has faced various opponent of every element, and even the Avatar himseld more than one times. Namely, she has faught:

At the end of the day, Korra doesn't exactly bring anything new to the table other than some techniques. Azula has faced opponents in every element, superior to her already. In the meantime, Korra, has never faced any notable firebender or lightning user above fodder level, let alone Azula's level.

Bending: Recently, I gave it some thought, and the 4 elements do not exactly give any huge advantage to someone when they are outclassed. In this fight, Korra's every element is outmatched. Her waterbending is perfectly countered by lightningbending and/or firewalls, her airbending is child's play, her firebending is simply outclassed and her earthbending is a near non-factor. I believe Azula is one of those benders (there are indeed some of them hence me debating on their side) that can take an Avatar as powerful as Korra in a bending battle. Versatality is just not enough to overcome their advantages imo.
CQC: Korra is outskilled, outmatched and will get overwhelmed in a h2h fight.
Physicals: That's pretty close but the edge imo goes to my side. Azula has slightly superior agility, supeiror flexibility, similar/equal durability, superior endurance and similar reaction speed.
Experience: I already have a section for that. Azula has faced quite litteraly 95% of anything Korra can dish out, while Korra hasn't.

The plan here is simple. Azula will not get tagged for some time unless she wants to, and during that time, she can bombard Korra with instant lightningbolts that she has no entirely reliable defence against, she can work around every element and/or elemental combination Korra will use and will certainly tire out after the Avatar, meaning that everything is pretty much on her favor. Azula will simply kill another Avatar for her track record.
