Hi guys!
This journey has been long, but it means so much to share this moment with you first. I moved to New York City to pursue a Broadway career which of course means I ended up waiting tables. I started The Bitchy Waiter blog in 2008, venting and complaining about the madness of serving.
What began as a personal outlet quickly turned into something where fellow servers could laugh, commiserate and feel seen. Over time, we’ve built a community of people who get it. These are our jokes, our chaos, our long nights, and our bonds that only restaurant-workers can understand.
I teamed up with Ken (the director of We're So Dead) in 2017 to make short films as Shift Drinks. Together, we created stories for this community, and in return, you showed up when it came time to make this movie. You tipped, supported, commented, shared and invested. We’re So Dead exists because of you, and for you.
Whether you’ve spent decades in the industry or just a few years, we hope this film makes you feel seen and "heard." Our hope is that it becomes part of your holiday season this year. And maybe We're So Dead becomes a Halloween and Christmas tradition that we can all share.
And now for the news we’ve been waiting to share:
We can’t wait to share trailers, behind-the-scenes clips, and more in the weeks ahead. Thank you for being the reason this movie exists. Let’s laugh, cry, and celebrate together. This one’s for you.
With genuine love and gratitude,
Darron & the cast and crew of We’re So Dead.
