We welcome Expo 1998, 2000 and 2010 aficionado Cesar Corona, from the
School of Public Diplomacy, University of Southern California.

Cesar has worked at three World Expositions, and is currently a
Masters candidate at USC, researching the relationship between World
Expositions and Public Diplomacy.

Whilst I haven't read his thesis yet, I'd be interested to know his
thoughts on the role of Pavilion Guides and Attendants in projecting
public diplomacy roles at World Expositions!

At Shanghai 2010 (Australia/USA) in particular, and at Aichi 2005
(Australia), we found western nations represented at these Expos
championing their bilingual Guides and Attendants, and how they were
able to engage at a personal level to the audiences at these Expos.

How important is a friendly Pavilion Guide/Attendant in projecting the
image of a nation at a World Expo? I hope Cesar has done the research!

Read his blog "Public Diplomacy from a Mexican Perspective" at
http://public-diplomacy-mexico.blogspot.com/

Also visit his website, http://internationalexpositions.org/ for a
detailed look into the protocol architecture of World's Fairs.

Enjoy! And welcome to the group, Cesar!
