Many users of Windows 10/8/7, Server 2012 R2/2016, etc. are reporting to have a problem while trying to execute an operation that is based on a service. And the detailed error message that appears on the computer screen is:
The 1067 error code appears mainly because of corrupted settings of that particular service, faulty services, Windows system malfunction, etc. Now, in this article, we will tell you how to fix the service error and all of them have been proved to be useful by users who had the same problem.
Sometimes error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly occurs because the service you are trying to start becomes faulty or corrupted. So, you can try to delete and install the service to get rid of the trouble.
3. Find the service that has the error 1067 from the list (Here, we take the ACPI service as an example). Right-click on it, click Export to save it to the desktop or any place, name it ACPI and click Save. We do this process is to create a backup for the service.
If you are having the error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly, now try these 3 common methods to troubleshoot the issue. These solutions are proved to be useful and hope you can also get rid of the trouble.
We have a locally hosted server. It is running JIRA, JIRA service desk, confluence and BitBucket. They are all operating on different ports. This is a Windows 2016 Server and we are using PostGRE SQL. It appears that bitbucket, elasticsearch for bitbucket, confluence and JIRA are all installed as a service.
Everything was working, but was slow. Eventually, the web interface stopped responding and we could not access it. After looking at the server, the JIRA software was using over 2 GB memory and 80% CPU of the computer. There are 4 cores @2.6 GHZ.
We tried to stop the service, but it would not stop. After waiting a long time, we restarted the server. After that, only the confluence service restarted. All of the others quickly respond saying: Atlassian JIRA service terminated with the following service-specific error: Incorrect function. EventID:7024
This should bypass the service and run Jira, if this starts then it could mean that the Jira service on Windows may have been corrupted and the service may need to be recreated by following the instructions here -Running Jira application as a Windows service.
I tried installing telegraf as windows service, on invoking the Telegraf service from services manager, received process terminated error - 1067. and there is no much info on windows event logger too.
I have a forwarder that was running fine for a couple days but I had to turn it off due to a system resources issue. I have since added more memory and when I try to start the service from the MS services GUI i get an error 1067. The event viewer is only showing me an event id of 7034, splunkforwarder service terminated unexpectedly...that's it. I have the service set to start as a local system account. Doing a Google search on those results return some MySQL results, and windows SCM service, which doesn't help me resolve the issue.
we also have this issue on windows 2008 R2 and windows 2012 R2 servers randomly splunk service dont start after server reboot. Windows event log report that The SplunkForwarder Service service terminated unexpectedly
I would like to know why this happens. Granted this command did release the lock on the file and I was successful at starting the service but why is this randomly happening so that I no longer need to use the band-aid.
The 1067 error is a general error meaning that a service has failed to start. I would check your event log to see if there is further information there, and also in the SQL log. Also, try starting the SQL Agent service from the command prompt with the -v switch to display the output to the diag screen.
Turns out Microsoft dot net framework 2.0 was corrupted. This was only determined while trying to repair the SQL install and received a prompt regarding dot net 2.0. So we cancelled the SQL repair and instead repaired the .Net 2.0 installation. Rebooted and SQL agent started automatically. Hope this helps.
May be this is late response but still I would like to post because this may help to avoid spent more time on this issue, I had same issue and I simply change the service account name to different service account instead of local, issue has been resolved and my SQL Agent service came to online.
I have been running into services that have stopped unexpectedly, especially Hitman pro, and I am unable to restart them. I have logged in with full domain access, disabled tamper protection and still receive errors. The most recent error is 1067 when trying to restart Hitman Pro, which is set to Automatic. Any insight? I'm not finding the self-help articles very helpful.
1067 = "The process terminated unexpectedly."
Do you see a "Process Exit" operation for the hmpalert.exe process? Note: The service hmpalert.exe has a "Command line" of "C:\Program Files (x86)\HitmanPro.Alert\hmpalert.exe" /service
For the "Process Exit", does the value in the Detail offer more insight? What is it?
Hi,
Its the first time I am posting any question in this forum.
I am trying to install jboss as a service on windows. For that I am using Java service wrapper.
My problem is that I am able to install jboss as a service using InstallJboss-NT.bat but when I am trying to start the Jboss using the command net start jbossI am getting following errors
A system error has occurred.
System error 1067 has occurred.
The process terminated unexpectedly.
I am not able to comprehend the problem,Please somebody help me out
I know this reply is very late, but for anyone who followed this problem here from google, my solution involved making sure the JAVA_HOME and JBOSS_HOME environmental variables were set globally and not just for the current user.
I normally set my environment variables under System Properties (Dialog) > Advanced (Tab) > Environment Variables (Button) > User Variables for username
However those settings are only per user, so they would only work when running batch files, but the java service wrapper services use the Local System Account by default and will only be able to see environment variables set under "System variables", i.e. the listing below "User Variables for ..." in the dialog pointed to above.
Set your variables there and everything should work fine!

I manually started the NI Configuration Manager and it generated Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly. In Windows, Control Panel Administrative Tools Services, NI Configuration Manager, and nidevldu service are not started and so I am getting a MAX database connection error.
I clicked on Upgrade Automatically to upgrade Jenkins (on Windows 10 Pro) from 2.28 to 2.401.2. After Installation, Jenkins required a restart. It stopped and now the Jenkins service is not Starting and is throwing a pop-up: Windows could not start Jenkins on local computer. error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly
It would be helpful if you could provide some additional information on how Jenkins 2.28 was setup on your Windows machine. Was it setup as a service or was it running from a jar file? It should be easier to recover if you were running from a jar file, as it always keeps the older jar you are upgrading from as a backup. You can then just rename the back up jar to fall back to your original version
It was set up as a service.
The issue has been resolved now. The JDK that is required for 2.401 is Java 11 or above and only Java 8 was available. We installed JDK 11 on the system and also configured the path on Jenkins and 2.401 is up now.
A heartfelt thank you to the amazing Jenkins community and its exceptional members! Your quick responses and unwavering support surpassed all expectations. Grateful to be a part of this incredible community.
When certain service starts, it fails on "Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly." The failed service in SAP world could be SAP router, SAP Start Service sapstartsrv, saposcol or services from other components.
I was running openPDC from long time ago in one of my computers. But suddenly, my computer start showing an process error when attempting to start/restart the openPDC process. It says on a pop-up box:
I went on a vacation dezember 18 and it was running well. My computer did some windows updates but none related with framework and things like that. On February 15th, I came to my house and see the computer with that problem.
If the active config file is corrupt, we can restore the backup file, i.e., renaming openPDC.exe.config.backup to openPDC.exe.config (make sure and rename the bad file first, like to openPDC.exe.config.trouble).
If you find one of these, a reinstall of the openPDC may be your best course of action, however, I would like to know what the error message was here should you find one, as these kinds of errors are more rare.
At first I try to read the config as xml way and it looks like ok and readable. Then I go through event viewer and there is some related errors that appear after a starting service procedure. There are 2 errors and 1 information. I am going to share with you as the following reports:
Application: openPDC.exe
