Virtual samples are an effective way to showcase the end buyer's logo on a product without having to order a physical sample. By uploading a logo to display on all virtual sample enabled products, you can help your customer visualize the final product.
To create a virtual sample in ESP Web, click on the design icon from the List, Grid, or Image views. In the Detail view, you can click on the Create Virtual Sample button. The Design Studio will open in a new tab.

The Virtual Sample tool in ESP enables you to not only upload logos, but also add text, clipart, and shapes to the product. The ability to create and manage layers gives you more flexibility when designing virtual sample images.
If a product is virtual sample enabled, you will be able to click on the Create a Virtual Sample button. The "My Product Designs" window will open and display any previous designs you have created for that product. You can select an existing design to edit or click on the Create New button to begin a new design.
Designs are previously created virtual samples. For example, if you previously created a virtual sample consisting of clipart and text, that image will be saved as a Design. In the Designs section, there are two options: All Designs and My Designs.
If the supplier has provided virtual sample enabled images for multiple colors of the product, you will be able to select from the available options in the Product Colors section. Click on Product Colors and then select the color you would like to work with.
All artwork and text will be added to the product in layers, similar to Adobe Photoshop. This means if you are creating a virtual sample that contains more than one element (for example: text and art), you are able to use the layer options to make designs. For example, if you are working with two clipart images, each image becomes a layer. The first layer is the base layer and each additional layer will be shown on top.
In the Save window, enter a name for this design. Then, choose the customer. If you would like to tag the design, you can enter or select a tag using the Tags dropdown. Tags enable you to assign this design to a grouping, such as for a theme or shape. For example, if the design was for a specific holiday, you could create a tag for holiday. Then, when you are searching for holiday designs at a later date, you'll be able to click on the holiday tag and see all tagged designs. Select the visibility level for the virtual sample:
To save a copy of the virtual sample to your computer, click on the Download button from the Success area. The options for download will be listed. Click on the link to download the design with the product or just the design itself in any of the available file types listed.
In the medical field, researchers are often unable to obtain the sufficient samples in a short period of time necessary to build a stable data-driven forecasting model used to classify a new disease. To address the problem of small data learning, many studies have demonstrated that generating virtual samples intended to augment the amount of training data is an effective approach, as it helps to improve forecasting models with small datasets. One of the most popular methods used in these studies is the mega-trend-diffusion (MTD) technique, which is widely used in various fields. The effectiveness of the MTD technique depends on the degree of data diffusion. However, data diffusion is seriously affected by extreme values. In addition, the MTD method only considers data fitted using a unimodal triangular membership function. However, in fact, data may come from multiple distributions in the real world. Therefore, considering the fact that data comes from multi-distributions, in this paper, a distance-based mega-trend-diffusion (DB-MTD) technique is proposed to appropriately estimate the degree of data diffusion with less impacts from extreme values. In the proposed method, it is assumed that the data is fitted by the triangular and trapezoidal membership functions to generate virtual samples. In addition, a possibility evaluation mechanism is proposed to measure the applicability of the virtual samples. In our experiment, two bladder cancer datasets are used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed DB-MTD method. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed method outperforms other VSG techniques in classification and regression items for small bladder cancer datasets.

A small dataset that contains very few samples, a maximum of thirty as defined in traditional normal distribution statistics, often makes it difficult for learning algorithms to make precise predictions. In past studies, many virtual sample generation (VSG) approaches have been shown to be effective in overcoming this issue by adding virtual samples to training sets, with some methods creating samples based on their estimated sample distributions and directly treating the distributions as unimodal without considering that small data may actually present multimodal distributions. Accordingly, before estimating sample distributions, this paper employs density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise to cluster small data and applies the AICc (the corrected version of the Akaike information criterion for small datasets) to assess clustering results as an essential procedure in data pre-processing. Once the AICc shows that the clusters are appropriate to present the data dispersion of small datasets, each of their sample distributions is estimated by using the maximal p value (MPV) method to present multimodal distributions; otherwise, all of the data is inferred as having unimodal distributions. We call the proposed method multimodal MPV (MMPV). Based on the estimated distributions, virtual samples are created with a mechanism to evaluate suitable sample sizes. In the experiments, one real and two public datasets are examined, and the bagging (bootstrap aggregating) procedure is employed to build the models, where the models are support vector regressions with three kernel functions: linear, polynomial, and radial basis. The results show that the forecasting accuracies of the MMPV are significantly better than those of MPV, a VSG method developed based on fuzzy C-means, and REAL (using original training sets), based on most of the statistical results of the paired t test.

Another problem is that with such an high tone, we hear only part of the choir. Sopranos and Tenors, because Bass and Altos can't sing so high. This means we are wasting our virtual instrument - cutting it in a half.
I think it does. BTW, Sopranos are able to sing much higher than the C4 these samples are limited to. Different samples would allow to reach C6. Also, in the "Mixed Choir Ahh" sample from MOTU Symphonic Orchestra, voices sing the same note at different octaves. So if you play a C4 on the keybord, you'll hear Altos singing C4 but also Sopranos singing C5. Don't ask me why.
I'd like to create a VST plug-in that is not an effect plug-in but an instrument plug-in (Image-Line puts that terminology, at any rate). In demo examples, they create either an *.exe app (great thing for stand-alone kind of instruments) or a *.dll app that can be used as an 'effect plug-in'. However I want to create a sampler with a keyboard and integrate my *.wav files to each notes and get them played on mousedown. In 'JuceDemo' at Synthesisers, MIDI i/o section, I see you already provided a keyboard playing samples but it only deals with one *.wav file (cello) and adjusts the pitch accordingly for the rest of the keys.
