Session in September

Hi all,

Does anyone know if the session in September is going ahead?  I didn't get any responses to my email about BikeWorks in August so I assumed everyone was too busy or the timing didn't work.  I know a couple of people who are realy eager to take the course and keep asking when the next session is.

Spoke to Annibal from Bike Sauce yesterday - he said we could get 4
consecutive evenings on either Fridays or Sundays in September :)

I assume we'd start the second Friday (sept 9th) bc of labour day. I
will be out of town sept 9&16 but will volunteer to teach brakes or
gears in the last 2 weeks.

Can anyone else confirm their availability for volunteering and/ or
teaching? Do y'all think it's a good idea to start after labour day
rather than sept 2nd? This will mean we'll all miss critical mass in
sept.

Friday sounds good and I agree after labour day makes more sense.  I might not be able to make Sep 16 but will know next Monday.  Unfortunately I think that week would be flat fix - if not I'll volunteer to teach/co-teach that.  I can volunteer the other weeks.

I went to bike sauce today to check out the space but no one I knew was there so I didnt touch base about the wenches workshop. 

Jane- are we confirmed there for Fridays in September?

Considering their space I'd like to cap our participants at 10-12. It's tight in there! There are two benches in the main space. If all is confirmed I'll email the interested people and let them know but ideally we should have posters out! How is our poster coming? (Moira? Lulu? Jane?)

Sorry to be out of things - Just went back to school this year so between orientation and the first week of classes it's been pretty hectic.

To answer your question about the poster, I don't think we followed through on that. I ended up being away for the summer and I know Jane, Lulu and Lynna were trying to set up a time to meet but I'm not sure what happened.

Re: September:

Just to summarize from earlier messages, this was peoples' availability & interest in teaching:

Kathleen - available x4 weeks + would teach brakes OR gears in last 2 weeks
Hyedie - not available
Shannon - available EXCEPT sep 16 + would teach flat fix if not on Sep 16
Robin - available Sep 23,30 + volunteer

Was anyone else available to teach/volunteer? Kristina? Kathy? Xuan-Yen? Jane?




I am available Fridays in Sept and would be interested in teaching/co-teaching the intro class (bike anatomy/fit).

If we started Sep 16, a tentative schedule could be:

Fri Sep 16 - Intro/Bike Anatomy -
Teaching: Moira (+ anyone else interested?);
Volunteering/present: Kathleen?

Fri Sep 23 - Flat Fix -
Teaching: Shannon

Maybe people could add their availability to this schedule. Would people prefer to start Sep 9?

I know we need to work on promotion as we discussed at the last meeting (poster etc) but if we have enough interest in a Sep session we could go ahead and have the promotional stuff fixed for the next session/next year.

Hi all,

Folks at bike sauce always take forever to reply but Anibal is running
Fridays by the board.

As for the flyer, I sent out an e-mail about it last month but no one
responded, so nothing is happening on that front.

Personally, I'm not sure how much I can contribute right now. I'm in
the process of possibly quitting my job and definitely moving
(probably out of Toronto), so things are a little bit stressful for me
right now!

If things get planning I could probably help by teaching one class but
other than that, I can't commit :(

I have been away on vacation and just got back.  For those who have never heard my name, I'm a former wench that has been absent due to personal reasons for the last 2 -3 years.  
 
I've read some of the e-mails, but not clear if there are sessions happening and when.  I am interested in assisting in classes if needed, (and it sounds like there may be some need).  Once things are finalized, please let me know, and I'll see how I can contribute.

I was super busy trying to graduate but now I'm finally done so I can
totally help out. I can start working on a poster and if anyone wants
to help, maybe we can arrange a meeting or start a google doc to write
ideas on etc. I can probably help teach the intro session or flat fix,

this is seeming a bit ridiculous. does Bike Sauce want us to do our workshops there ? i would be happy to take over correspondance with them if it's worth while.

we can do workshops at CBN but since i will not be here for the next week i could request they host us in october if we needed it... but aren't we confirmed at Bike Pirates ? Xuan-yen, can you confirm that? what day of the week will it be?
