Ongoing Workshops @ Bike Pirates

Hey all, I appreciate that this list is being used again and that many of you still show interest and care for this program / community.

I just wanted to send a note to let everyone know that we ARE continuing to run the Gear Up! workshops at Bike Pirates on Sunday Evenings. We have had a few rough months, mostly due to a lack of organized promotion, but we really want these workshops to work and we know that there is a large community that would appreciate them.

SO

We are starting June's programming this coming Sunday June 9th, 2nd workshop the 16th and 3rd workshop the 23rd. (Suggestions for 3rd week advanced topic are welcome). And plan to run the sessions in July and August as well.

What we need is help promoting what we are doing, and some volunteers to continue showing up to help with workshops and to occasionally bottom-line. We have a few key-holders at Pirates who are committed to being there and running workshops but it gets tiring when we have to do it every week.

We are also taking "registration" from interested parties who come into Pirates so we can confirm whether or not anyone is going to show up on a weekly basis. We are taking their name and email address, so we can contact them if the workshop is not going ahead for any reason. I think this is going to be pretty helpful.

Please chime in if you are interested in helping out, or if you can take a leading role  in any capacity (seriously not many hours of work).

We hope to have someone sign up for each week so we know who will lead, and ask folks to let us know what weeks they think they can drop in. We can do this, but we need a bit more help to keep it running. Please consider volunteering one week a month.
