MATAIFA ADVENTURE

I CANNOT recount the great privilege we enjoy as we serve the great commission of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is particularly of great interest in the students, and I dare say that I am convinced the students in institutions of higher learning form the greatest next frontier in world missions! And there are enough reasons to support this. Maybe two that prove this:
· The first greatest movement in frontier missions [missions to uncharted, unreached territories and the subsequent opening of the lands for Christ and Christianity] started with students. When you hear of David Livingstone and Dr. Ludwig Krapf, you think of explorers according to the history we learnt. But what History never told us was that they were about HIS story—missions! A study of student mission movements like the famous student volunteer Movement [SVM] have many times over surprised me and caused me to labour a little bit more in the student fraternity.
· This year I have been involved in student ministry, with our newly branded STUDENT NATION DISCIPLESHIP movement. I can recount that the bible is true to the point when it talks about the youth being strong, the word of God living in them and overcomers over the evil one. I delight to see them know the living God so that they may overcome the evil one. Then, their energy is put to use.
I have had the rare opportunity of being among students and just this year, on almost every platform I have interacted with them, I have not been unaware that it was all to do with MISSIONS! Just last week, I travailed with the students of MOI UNIVWERSITY, WEST CAMPUS CHRISTIAN UNION IN LONGISA—BOMET, praying and witnessing for the people to get new life in Christ. We lasted several hours of prayer, many in witnessing and rallying crusades, all for Christ. Can you imagine that these students do not stay on campus, and yet up to about 90 of them availed themselves for this mission? And they called me Pastor all through!
And here is the report as of the last day I was with them [My main function was to offer spiritual and strategic guidance in the ministry].
· Students attending the mission: 90
· Crusades Tue-Thur: 3
· Salvation in the three crusades: 12
Student witnessing in high schools
· No of schools reached in the three days: 7
· Salvations recorded and need for discipleship: about 400
Person to person evangelism
· Villages and markets reached on a daily basis: 6
· No of salvations recorded: about 10 per center.
· Projected total: 180
Clearly, we are talking of more than 500 people turning around to the saving grace of the LORD JESUS. THERE IS NO BETTER NEWS! WE ARE SEEING REV. 11:15 drawing close to fulfillment. The kingdoms of this world are becoming the kingdoms of our great God and Lord!
ACTIONS ONGOING
BASED ON THESE STATISTICS, WE ARE MORE THAN CONVINCED THAT GOD WANTS US TO ‘WASTE’ OURSELVES IN STUDENTS. THIS IS WHY OUR MONDAY EVENINGS ARE SATURATED WITH PRAYERS FOR THE STUDENTS. IT IS THE REASON WHY I HAVE, BY GOD’S GRACE, DEVELOPED A MISSIONS BOOK SPECIFICALLY FOR STUDENTS. YES, IT IS THE REASON WE HAVE DEVELOPED A 3-4-5-6 PATHWAY—A STRATEGY TO RUN THREE COMPREHENSIVE DISCIPLESHIP AND MENTORSHIP PROGRAMMES FOR FOUR CAMPUS YEARS TO MENTOR 5 OTHER STUDENTS IN A VOLUNTEER PERIOD OF SIX MONTHS AFTER CAMPUS. IT IS THE REASON WHY, WE ARE WORKING SO HARD TO GET ALL RESOURCES TO SPEND OUR TIME DISCIPLING STUDENTS. IT IS THE REASON YOU NOW WILL KNOW OUR STUDENT MOVEMENT BY THE NAME ‘SND’ OR IN FULL, STUDENT NATION DISCIPLESHIP, A ministry under the bigger MATAIFA MINISTRY. WE ARE ABOUT MISSIONS AND DISCIPLESHIP.

PRAYER AND PRAISE
· This Friday 10th August. A mentorship training to ex-high schoolers in Athi River, at Daystar University. May they encounter liberating truth and be open to mentorship.
· 19th August. Training in the subject of discipleship at the DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING PROGRAM [DTP] at Trinity Fellowship. My wife and I will have the whole day for this. Pray about it.
· Kambala Girls’ High school mission the first week of Spetember.
· Resources. We are trusting the Lord to raise the items we need for the ministry. These are a printer [Ksh.45,000], projector [Ksh.65,000] and Public Address system [Ksh. 200,000]
· Publishing of ‘Just One More Soul’ student missions book for our programmes. Ksh. 300,000.
