Hi All

Photographed today working the daytime service 55 Cardiff City Centre - Brynheilog service under contract to Cardiff City Council is :

New Adventure, YJ56 A5V, Opatre Solo

A quick question about this service, if the route is operated by cardiff bus in the evenings & sundays,  should tickets issued by  cardiff bus  be valid on the daytime journeys operated by New Adventure, I know the cardiff bus journeys do have some minor  route changes compared to the daytime route.

Slightly off topic but i have cardiff bus scania decker No. 462 on the 15:48  service 27 Cardiff  - Thornhill  from the city centre out to thornhill and back, but did struggle to keep to time and ended up  7 minutes late by the time we got to thornhill however it was only 1 minutes late by the time we got back into Cardiff around 17:00

Also noted some of the other deckers working peak hour services on routes, 21, 23 etc

Thank You

Anthony

I think it depends on whether both New Adventure and Cardiff Bus runs are contracted by Cardiff County Council. If, for example, Cardiff Bus runs it commercially then I think it won't be accepted as it's simply another operator, however if all runs are then it's quite possible they will be accepted because it's essentially a council ticket.

I'm not 100% sure on how it works, I don't know if the ticket sales go directly to the council and then the council pay the operator a fixed fee for each journey or if part of it goes to the council and part to operator. Or maybe even the ticket sales go to the operator and the council "top it up".
