By the mid 1980s, Glyn Williams had established a small coaching business of about 8 vehicles. However, at deregulation, registered a commercial service from Blackwood to Newport, initially running hourly, but later, frequencies increased and other services developed. Gradually, the commercial operations replaced the coaching side.

The first buses acquired to run the service came in 1987, a pair of ECW bodied Bristol RESLs from Inter Valley Link, GTX359/61N.

The attached shows GTX 361N climbing Stow Hill, Newport on 4th June 1988.

The business was sold to Stagecoach (Red & White) in 2006, sadly Mr Williams died in January 2019.

Regards,

Andrew
