Flying the Flag

The Welsh flag flies proudly above Express Motors MPD CX04 CVF as it enters Caernarfon on route 1A from Bangor. The bus looks immaculate as it has just been repainted and is still awaiting fleetnames to be applied.

As ever, great photo Steve :o) Anyone who's familiar with the friendly family-run firm will recognise Kevin behind the wheel. His father Eric also enjoys doing a spot of driving, usually on Saturdays. Many a time when I've ridden the Ffestiniog Railway and nipped into the bus terminal area at Blaenau Ffestiniog for some stock pics for Coach & Bus Week magazine (which I Edit), I've enjoyed a chat with Eric when he's been on the X1s. They're a nice family, who are rightly proud and passionate about what they do.

They certainly do have a long history and a very interesting fleet,
well kept with a large variety of vehicle types. I have met Jean at
Bontnewydd who I believe is the owner's wife.
