Hey all.

I just wanted to make you all aware of automateit
(http://automateit.org/). It's a system a little like puppet or chef
but serverless and pure ruby. Much simpler to use than both puppet or
chef. I have been working with it for a few weeks now and I really
like it.

It's a great "sanity check" tool to make sure your application has
everything it needs and that everything is set up properly. For
example in my case I have a set of recipes that make sure postgres is
installed, that the postgresql.ini and pg_hba.conf have the proper
settings, that the kernel shmax parameters are set propertly, that the
files I need in /etc/logrotate.d and /etc/cron.d are present, that
apache is installed and running, the passenger is installed, running
and is configured propertly etc.

I'd be happy to share my recipes if anybody wants to use it. I might
eventually put them up on github too one day.
