Hi Everyone,

Looks like we have the Rails ball rolling again. Yay for us! The next meeting will be

We will talk about whatever we want because we can but the following topics have been suggested recently:

* RoR IDEs
* Micro Show and tell - some cool code/app you've written, 5 minutes on why a tiny piece of it is extra cool.
* A tour through some rails code
* Rails plugins

We have a large projection screen but no projector so if someone could bring one along that would be great. I'm looking forward to seeing you all here and to another stimulating discussion.

cheers,
-tomek

I forgot to mention that there will be a light refreshment served (ie pizza and beer) at tomorrow's meeting courtesy of ProjectX Technology and Katipo Communications. Thanks to our sponsors!

ProjectX Technology (http://www.projectx.co.nz) is a leading on-line mapping software development company based in Wellington, New Zealand. ProjectX specialises in creating simple solutions which make it easy for businesses and local communities to connect with each other. ProjectX has established itself as one of New Zealand's leading on-line mapping solutions provider with its flagship products: ZoomIn (http://www.zoomin.co.nz), Smaps (http://smaps.co.nz) and the underlying ZoomIn Mapping System (http://developer.zoomin.co.nz).

Katipo Communications (http://katipo.co.nz) has just launched it's first Ruby on Rails open source project, called Kete.  Written for Horowhenua Library Trust (http://horowhenua.kete.net.nz), Kete has already been adopted by two other clients for projects, including it's first US customer.  A number of other projects are likely to be announced in July.

cheers,

Hi there,

I won't be able to make it until 7.15 tonight: is there a locked door
to get past like last time?

Cheers

Cyrille

You may wish to discuss whether you would like a meetup.com group - I'm
happy to set it up (as I have done for the Auckland Ruby & Java groups,
even tho I don't actually organise the Auckland Java group) and then
delegate organisation to you guys (so you don't have to pay for the
subscription).
