I am pleased to announce the Wellington Java User Group meeting for June 2016.
Querydsl - Unified Queries for Java
Wednesday, June 8: 5:00 for 5:15 - 6:30pm
What is Querydsl?
Querydsl is a Java framework which allows for generation of type-safe queries in a syntax very similar to SQL. The framework provides a number of modules for supporting a variety of backends, including JPA, SQL, Lucene and even Java Collections. This session will focus on the Querydsl framework and show a number of examples of each of the modules.
The benefits of using a fluent API in comparison to simple strings are for example
- code completion in IDE
- almost no syntactically invalid queries allowed
- domain types and properties can be referenced safely
- adopts better to refactoring changes in domain types
