Hi all,

It seems that interviews have been somewhat of a flop.

Rather than having a painful meeting, let's have a  design, code & content sprint - then lots of smiles on Sunday avo. Saturday avo & into the night to go hard and get things done.

Do we have 2/3 people from the list who want to spend a few (6?) hours together on Saturday? We can go hard on pizza & caffeine.

I don't share the assumption that IA is hard to fix once it's been put in place. Modern practices really divorce content, design & code. There are some really talented UX peepz on this list, let's make the most of it.

Hi Tim - the goal for this weekends meet was firstly for us to combine
what user knowledge we had gained through our (rather limited)
research and design an IA based on business needs, user needs and
content investigation.

Secondly the plan was for the dev team to then join us for a run
through of everything we've learned and have a chance to talk through
appropriate techs to meet the site/user needs.

I can't do Saturday afternoon unfortunately as my baby is turning 10
(which is frankly just too important for me to miss).

I think group concensus is that we follow on with the plan and make
use of what we do know about the users so far. So Sunday at 11 it will
have to be I'm afraid.

It will take us a good 2 hours to come up with an IA so I guess the
best arrival time for devs would be 1pm.

Will that still work for you Tim?

Do we know which other dev bodies are coming along?

Cheers,

I'm with Steph on this one. I don't think things are as broken as it
might sound and having to UX folk consolidate what they do have gives
a nice starting point.

I've already made alt plans for tomorrow myself.

Thanks for reigning me in you two :)

Is there anything productive that I can do tonight or tomorrow? Does Emerge have visual identify guidelines?

Sorry if I made people feel that they should be giving up their time tomorrow. I only wanted to invite 3 people over to my place max to get something placed together!

I think I skipped a few mental progressions as I was drafting the previous email. I thought it would be really good to get a decent foundation together. I didn't know that there was still a discussion to be held about which technical tool is used to implement the site. I thought we had settled on Wordpress..  (in February?)
