I've tagged the top level sections with a (1) there are a few second
level sections that get a (2).
The general layout is:
- logo and nav bar at the top
- a footer with a couple of items at the bottom
- all pages are main content on left 2/3rd's with a right 1/3 column
that has some specific content as described in the site map / IA html
file
- except the home page which has 3 columns
Steph will be arranging a review of this with Emerge soon. It's likely
some bits will change.
For a schematic of the home page see--

Let me know what questions this raises. I'm certain there should be some.
Steph, Katia, Kristina -- please add your notes and thoughts and
recollections and etc.
thanks,

The 'blowing our trumpet' section is intended to be used like a blog
sort of. This is where they'll add new content normally. The right
hand column of the home page will show content from there with a
particular category or 'show on home' setting.
The rest of the site is probably page oriented instead of posting oriented.
The layout for the 'blowing our trumpet' section landing is not well
defined yet.

re: Wordpress - I don't see us as stuck on that.
Pros were that the editing interface is really nice and that it is
known to work, lot's of extensions etc. But that's it. I way prefer
python myself for everything. PHP is the devil's cornbread.
But, if we find ourselves needing to poke around at that level then
we're doing something wrong and leaving them with something that needs
to be maintained by us in the future. I would hope we can meet all
their needs with some stock templates plus a little css and imagery.
But, do tell, what's your fav Python flavored CMS? (--just fyi, if you
do say Plone I will need to hurt you.)
