Hi everyone - I had a meeting with Emerge today and took them through
the findings from our research and the recommended IA (I have added my
report to them as a file to this group). They took the news really
well. I thought there would be some push back on the heavy thinning
out of content but they actually felt it was a relief to have someone
tell them the harsh realities that some of their target audiences are
simply not interested in their website and that their content reads
like funding application, not a website.

They are going to have a discussion around what to call their
benefactors and get back to us with the label they prefer. They want a
full copyright on the content so as to protect the personal stories
they may share from their clients.

Next steps...

I think we need to reconvene to agree on and divide up the next lot of
work amongst us.
- We need someone to pick up the visual design role and meet with
Emerge to get that started.
- We need to make a decision on a technology and get the initial build
done - including answering all those technical questions we haven't
tackled yet - especially on regard to accessibility considerations
- We need to allocate a couple of people to working on the content.
There's no way Emerge are going to be able to write for the web
without some help and guidance. I think the best way to do this will
be to pick the bones out of their existing content for them and then
give it to them as an example of what to do with the rest. We can
thin it right down to the core and then they can recomplicate it as
they build it up again :)

Can we meet on Saturday 17th to push ahead?

Cheers, Steph

Sorry I was not really active until now but I can help you for the graphic design.
I'm keen for Saturday at 5pm... Would it take place at Southern Cross?

Southern Cross has beer so.... yeah - why not :)  Thanks for grabbing up the design role Julie - that's awesome!

5pm works for me  - that's beer o'clock as it happens.
