Hi there,

I am looking at getting into gaming and am from Wellington.  Which of these two courses is best for gaming?

Here is a summary of each one I'm considering:

Diploma in Advanced Software Development (Computer Power Plus):
Visual Studio
C#
Java
SQL
SML
Databases

Graduate Diploma in Design Innovation (Majoring in Game Design) Victoria University:
3D Modelling and Animation
Intro to Computer Game Design
Advanced Computer Game Design
Computer Graphics Production
Post-Production
Digital Video Creation

Some of the software covered at Vic includes Unity, Blender and Maya but I don't know if C# is taught there like Computer Power.  I know Computer Power Plus doesn't teach making games but is more programming-orientated.  Which one is best for gaming?  Actually, does it really matter which one?

Appreciate your help
David

Vic Uni would be better for gaming, as Unity, Blender and Maya are industry standards.
You also have the option with the vic course of being able to work at Weta on Maya.
I would personally not worry too much about C#, as that only covers windows machines,
and not the bulk of the market, which is Android (based on Java) (approx. 70% global marketshare).

As far as learning languages go, it would be quicker to buy a physical book off amazon,
as well as less hassle with the photocopied notes every lecture.
(Please note that amazon ebooks are rarely, if ever, accurate on technical subjects.)
