I live in Christchurch but because I have this week off work I am
considering flying up there. I have never attended any of the meetings
before or even Wellington and I find it a bit costly for flights and
accommodation.

Am I welcome to come?
If yes will you need a definite confirmation from me in advance?
Any advice or other things to be aware of in traveling there?

hi tim,

good to see you here :-)

there is no formal part around these meetings apart from those
interested showing up, one of them presenting, all of them having a
beer, some of them having curry at TNC[1] afterwards and all of them
having a good time chatting about geeky stuff.

as you can see, there is no need for a formal showing hands
beforehand. i hope many of you come around on thursday :-)
