Hi there,
 
My name is Siena Yates, I'm a journalism student at Whitireia.
Just wondering if you would mind if I came down and photographed you guys for a photo-essay for my journalism course? It would basically just be a slideshow of roughly 20 photos, and a short article on your group and fire dancing etc?

If so, would you be able to let me know when the next few shows are supposed to be?
Or if one or two of the group would be interested on doing something specifically for the photo-essay and story, that'd be cool too :)

Hi Siena I don;t know if anyone has replied to you directly, individual people/groups may be doing things they could invite you to, the regular activity is the Tuesday night Frank Kitts Park get -together. WCC permitted use of the area. Dusk is a good time estimate, weather-dependant. Do you mind being photographed doing your photographing?

Hi Siena,

Im happy to be involved, I do poi, fire eating and fire fans and have done a variety of performances in NZ and the UK. We have a wide range of performers in our group from hoops to staffs, to fire parasols!!  As Mike says the regular practise night is a tuesday (ive been a not so good attender as Ive been studying but am done now so free!),We don't do shows regularly as such it tends to be as the work comes in, and then we organise depending on what n when is needed,

Maybe we could meet for a coffee and discuss this further? Im happy to coordinate any others who are keen, maybe we could pick a tuesday if the group so wishes and those who would like to be involved can come that night. I'll email me you my cell phone privately

What does everyone else think? :)

Hi everyone,

I met with Sienna yesterday, shes keen to come along on a Tuesday and take photos and chat to all those who want to be involved. I suggested this tues at 7pm for the first time, does that work for those who want to be involved? i have a wee bit of fuel i can bring along if people give me koha, who else brings fuel (its been so long ive no idea!!!)
