Hi Richard

Digging up your past emails...in 2005, you mention a RON MILLER was a descendant of Daniel Weller and Mary Purchin.   I have a further email (from a different Ron) who thought Ron Miller had a WILL of Daniels which referred to Daniels daughters.

I was never given an update on this .
Are you still in touch with Ron Miller ?  If so, would you please ask him about this Will....It could solve a major problem for me.

Incidentally, I have a decent sized Weller family .(.which includes the input and help of other kind researchers, your own helpful input, plus my own avid diggings.)    I am more than happy to send a Gedcom file to anyone.

Although I am as careful as I can be, there are bound to be errors in it, BUT this is a further great advantage in 'sharing' our research.  We must point out likely errors so they can be corrected for one and all .
Kind Regards
Myrna

Hi Myrna!
I'd like a copy of your Gedcom file please!  I agree - the more we compare, the more we can iron out the errors.
Regards, Jules

Hello Myrna,

Although I have in the past few days renewed contact with Ron MILLER,
I have no need to pass on your query as I myself have an abstract of
Daniel's will. I imagine this is sufficient for your purposes:

DANIEL WELLER of Rolvenden, Kent, yeoman.
Date of Will: 9 Jun 1760
Date of Probate: 26 Oct 1762.
ACC [Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury]: Ref: Lib A96, folio 454.
Will held in Kent Record Office, Maidstone.
Exors: My son Alexander WELLER. My daughter Hester Catherine
WILLSHIRE. My son-in-law Stephen WILLSHIRE, Trustee.
To my daughter Mary WELLER wife of my son Alexander WELLER, one
mourning ring which was Mr Alexander WELLER's.
To my grandson Alexander WELLER .....
To my grandson John WELLER ... and one mourning ring which was Captain
John WELLER's.
To my son-in-law Stephen WILLSHIRE of rolvenden, yeoman .............
To my daughter Hester Catherine WILLSHIRE wife of the said Stephen
WILLSHIRE of Rolvenden ......
..... and the balance of my goods for my son Alexander WELLER.
To my daughter Mary HOPPER wife of Thomas HOPPER of Benenden,
husbandman ........
I desire to be buried in Rolvenden churchyard with the following
inscription: "Here lieth the body of Daniel WELLER, son of Richard
WELLER and grandson of Alexander WELLER of Kingsgate in Rolvenden."
Witnesses: Mary HARWOOD, Martha HARWOOD, Alexander HARWOOD.

My comments. So that answers the question about the two Marys!
Relationships were not always as precise as given here (except Mary w/
o Alexander?). Son/daughter sometimes means son/daughter-in-law.
Brother/sister sometimes means brother/sister-in-law or step-brother/
sister.
Quite a few WELLER wills are on Maureen RAWSON's website. Let me know
if you would like the URL. I cannot lay my hands on it immediately.

Cheers,
Richard

The quickest route to the Kent wills is to search for "GenUKI + Kent
Genealogy" and then click on Probate Records.

There are abstracts or transcripts of WELLER wills of Alexander of
Tenterden 1838, Tobias of Deal, 1690 and lots from Cranbrook: 4
Alexanders 1596, 1606, 1612, and 1630, Dence 1619, Elizabeth 1607,
Joan 1637/8, John 1652, Richards 1612 and 1649, Stephen 1635, Thomas
1652.

Happy hunting,

Richard
