He Dyed of the Small Pox Jan ye 27th 1727 And in the 25th year of His
Age.
This Monument was Placed here as a Gratefull Memorial of him by his
Five Surviving Brothers and one Sister.

Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas WELLER 1632 discussed under
another subject heading, and his wife Elizabeth LEGATT.
Elizabeth d/o Thomas WELLER was baptised at Tonbridge 21 Dec 1671.
She married John AUSTEN of Horsmonden at Tonbridge by Licence 19 Jan
1693/4.
She was buried at Tonbridge 25 Feb 1721.
John and Elizabeth had children: Elizabeth, John, Francis, Thomas,
William, Robert and Stephen.
William AUSTEN 1701-1739 married Rebecca nee HAMPSON, widow of ....
WALTER..
William and Rebecca had Hampson, Philadelphia, George and Leonora.
George AUSTEN 1731-1805 married Cassandra LEIGH.
Among their seven children was Jane AUSTEN 1775-1817. the novelist.
