Startup Weekend is a global network of over 100,000 present in over 100 countries entrepreneurs who collaborate to work on amazing startups and create awesome local startup communities. It is supported by Kaufmann Foundation and Google globally.

This time Startup Weekend Mumbai will be held at IIT Bombay, Mumbai from 2nd to 4th May, 2014 with support from 10,000 Start-Ups, NASSCOM. Participation will be limited and those who are looking forward to startup can come and learn what it takes to launch a startup in 54 hours. Those who are already doing something can come and test new ideas, find new potential team mates and network with local mentors.

At Startup Weekend we get developers, business guys and designers together to make awesome cross functional teams and discover what entrepreneurs can do together. Mumbai apart from being financial capital, it has also institutes such as IIT, JBIMS, SP Jain, NITIE, NIFT etc. have some of the best institutions of the country in each field and thus its an unique melting point. Developers who want to start a new side project or a new business idea can find those who can collaborate with them here. 

On Day 1 of the event, every participant gets maximum 60 seconds to pitch his/her Business Idea in front of everyone including speaker of the event. After online voting, top Ideas are selected based on the number of participation. The owners of these top ideas form teams based on the skills those final ideas require to get implemented i.e. Developer, Designer, Marketer, Doctor, Chef, Engineer, Sales, Accountant, Painter, etc. Every participant gets a chance to work on one business idea only and hence next 50+ hour you work upon developing that business idea into a Business model for presenting it in front of Judges on Day 3 closing who are founders, VCs, Angel Investors, etc. On Day 2 you brainstorm/discuss your team's business idea with excellent mentors that we choose and invite who are again founder and/or investors from different field.
