learning setup does not save

Just like to say thanks first. Amazing toolset, and really quick to get running initially and start messing around with toys! I now just need to learn its idiosyncrasies.
My problem is as follows:
Proceed through setup as normal and everything fine; 12 custom osc feature names and data recognised from processing.
Next in learning setup I decide I only want certain sensor data to control parameters. Using 'View & choose features...' I select subsets of input to output parameter controls. Now, this is the problem. No matter which way I approach this section settings are not kept for neural nets? Tried saving and loading after restart.
Output parameters map correctly to MaxMSP, though sometime drop out and freeze in performance, but that probably my old machine.
