"Data Mining with Weka" questions - next session and using the materials in-between the sessions

Hello, I have recently enrolled in "Data Mining with Weka." Thank you very much for this fantastic learning opportunity!

My questions:

1. Will you be offering another session and if yes, when? (This first part, not "More Data Mining with Weka" )

2. Can we use course materials (chapters, videos, activities, etc.)  in-between the sessions for self-study or will they be taken off-line?

yes, certainly; but right now I don’t know when.

2. Can we use course materials (chapters, videos, activities, etc.)  in-between the sessions for self-study or will they be taken off-line?

The videos are all on Youtube’s WekaMOOC channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/WekaMOOC).

They’re also available for download from our “materials” site (http://www.cs.waikato.ac.nz/ml/weka/mooc/dataminingwithweka/), along with all the slides, video captions, even the music. 

The only thing you can’t access is the activities — which is unfortunate, because they are a really useful part of the course, I think. For technical reasons, the activities are only available when the course is  running (we run the course on Google’s coursebuilder software, which costs real money). This is something we’re trying to fix. 

(In the interim, I attach a PDF of all the activities for the first MOOC (we don’t have one for the second MOOC). But it’s a poor substitute because it doesn’t show the feedback for wrong answers.)

Incidentally, if we were part of a consortium (as Abhishek suggested, in the email I just replied to), it’s not clear whether we’d be able to do this. For example, I believe that Coursera courses are completely unavailable — even the videos — when the course isn’t running.

Thanks very much for the activity questions and answers. They are quite valuable for understanding nuances that are not covered in the talks or in the text. Since it has been stated that the next course, More Data Mining, will make significant use of the activities, it would be nice if similar screen shots could be made available quickly, perhaps after a student has finished each activity.

Yep. Any volunteers? Just go for it! If you do them all, please send me the entire collection of screenshots when the course ends.

Hi, 

I have just finished the first Data Mining with Weka course and was very happy to see that there is a follow-up course.

Unfortunately, my enthusiasm was curbed a little when I found out that I just missed the course. 

As I want to use Weka for my master thesis, that I am currently working on, I cannot wait until the course starts again in fall. 

If anyone could provide screenshots from the More Data Mining with Weka activities I would highly appreciate it.

I would really appreciate any help on getting my hands on screenshots of the activities and their answers, as they really do help in solidifying the concepts taught in the course.
