Dear Kumar:

In the Explorer>Preprocess>Selected attribute panel the mean and standard deviations are displayed for numeric attributes. I urge you to refer the Prescribed book also to find other alternatives.

I hope that answers your query.

Dear Kumar:

I forgot to mention that certain Activity Questions may ask you to calculate mean and std dev  - Please do follow these instructions - they help you to understand the concepts better.

Hi,

Got it, but am looking for the others variables(not in the datasets). Some thing like with help of 10 seeds, got 10 values. Which needs to be calculated(mean, sd).

Yours,

Dear Kumar,

As Bhoomin said, you can get the mean and std dev directly from the "Selected attrubute" for every numeric attribute. However if you need to perform some operation over an attribute then you can use the Unsupervised Filter. Under Filter, find unsupervised > attribute > AddExpression or the MathExpression. You have to do some research on the Web to see how they work.

Have fun!

Hi Kumar,

With Weka Explorer you can not calculate the mean and std dev of the output of 10 different runs. You have to wait till the "More Data Mining with Weka" to know how to use the Experimenter.

At this stage you have to get some external support like a calculator or a spread sheet.

You can find how to use filters in the text book of the course and in "More data mining with Weka" course
