To goodbyes-that they never be spoken.
To friendships - may they never be broken.
After 15 years of serving the northern Colorado homebrew community, Hops & Berries will be closing its doors October 31st. It's been an amazing journey, from a true "mom & pop" in a 1000 sqft space to at one point rocking two stores with six employees. It's not without a lot of mixed feelings, but it is time to move on to other adventures. We have nothing but love and appreciation for our 3k+ customers over these years as we prepare to say goodbye and until closing day we will do our best to provide a broad selection of ingredients and equipment. Your support means everything right to the last purchase. The northern Colorado beer and wine making community is dedicated and undying. Thank you truly for letting us be your local homebrew shop for all these years.
PLEASE NOTE We will be closed Tuesday 8/18
Barring the unforeseen, our hours will remain
Curbside Tues-Thurs, Walk-in Fri 11-6, Sat 10-4
Last Calls
We're anticipating a couple restocking deliveries over the next 10 weeks. Now is the time if you'd like to pre-order your favorite wine kit, sack of malt, etc. Shoot me an email and I will do my best to accommodate you on the way out. In meantime, come buy our goods!

Recipe Of The M̶o̶n̶t̶h̶ Year?------------------------------------------------------------------<<I've been pretty derelict with these newsletters. Here's the beer I plan on brewing next. Pale or XPA or whatever you want to call it, features a couple of as-yet-unnamed hops. Repackaging them I got pretty excited about both of these, and how they'll play together. Citrus and tropical fruits, floral. The Kviek yeast isn't critical, just super easy to use. Get it down below 90° and let it roll. The extract version just couldn't be much simpler. Enjoy.>>
Mash efficiency: 75% ~ Kettle/fermenter loss: 2qt
"I do Adieu" Very Pale Ale
[all-grain]
Gravities: 1.054 – 10 ~ IBU: ~30 ~ ABV: 5.8%
6# 2-row
1.5# Pils
1.5# German Pale Wheat
1.5# flaked rice
.5# Dextrine
.25# Acidulated malt
Mash at 150° for an hour.
1 oz ea HBC-352 & 10416 – 10m, again at 0m
2 oz ea dry hop three days into fermentation with
Lallemand Kviek pitched at 90°, to free-fall to living room temp.
[super-simple extract]
steep .75# Dextrine pre-boil, and replace the grains with:
4# Briess Pils DME
1# Wheat DME
1# Rice Solids
No need for a long boil on this one - 10 minutes and jump right into the hop schedule.
Hop and ferment as above.
Cheers!---------------------------------------------------------------
