A fellow hydrogeologist in Maine, Steve M., who now manages a municipal wastewater treatment facility, told me they’ve used PFAS in their process for years. In Maine, sludge was only allowed on fields used for hay and animal corn. Now it is not allowed to be spread at all However, look into the use of Bio char to break down the PFAS. Steve says the research is very promising.
