1 day agoWhat does international waters have to do with anything ? I don't see why you felt the need to include it. Regardless, if a ship can be deemed as part of the war effort, like transporting munitions or vital supplies, then it's fair game no matter what side it's on or even where that ship happens to be located.I personally have sympathy for the Russian side but this is my understanding of what is and isn't considered as a legitimate military target which also includes civilian dual use targets. That is why the energy facilities have been fair game for Russia this whole time.17Reply

Remember how quickly the "International Community" (the West) mounted an anti-piracy campaign to go after the Somali Pirates? Oddly though, there was not a single mention of the word piracy (let alone condemnation or calls for action) when the Israelis attacked the Turkish ship the Mavi Marmara in 2010, executing 9 of the passengers. 1 day agoNo one is attacking these ships the first three were over fifty years old in poor shape made for rivers only and were taken out to sea in swells 2 to 3 times what they were rated for when new, all of the five ships had 12 to 20 people on board that is not enough people to fight fires or flooding. plus drive the vessel and that is why cargo ships sink all the time.2Reply

The other two ships are river (calm waters) tankers that really shouldn't have in the seas that they were travelling in to make ship-ship transfers, the rough seas took its toll on them..Reply
