For Windows, there is a new installer to install the latest release directly from the source: Alien Arena Installer. This installer keeps the game up-to-date and can be used for launching the game as well.
Four classic player models with all their custom skins are available again: slashbot-classic, martiancyborg-classic, martianenforcer-classic and martianwarrior-classic. From release 7.71.5, you can install them with the console command installmodel. If you have 7.71.4, you can use installmap for that.

On Windows, if you want to download from svn on icculus, you can install TortoiseSVN and download the source code. The alienarena.exe is already there.
On Linux, install subversion. Then you need to build the application yourself.
For building on Linux, you need to install the following libraries first: apt install sharutils libglu1-mesa-dev libgl1-mesa-dev libjpeg-dev libpng-dev libxxf86vm-dev libxxf86dga-dev libxext-dev libx11-dev libcurl4-gnutls-dev libopenal-dev libvorbis-dev libfreetype6-dev pkg-config

The Alien Arena Installer downloads the files directly from the source, keeps it up-to-date and it can be used for launching the game as well.
It should be very easy to use, just choose the folder to install to and press Install. This will also install the OpenAL audio library. After that, tick the Full screen box to automatically fill your monitor's resolution and press Play to play in full screen mode.
How to install the Alien Arena Installer
Click the Download button to download and run Setup.exe. This installs the ClickOnce Alien Arena Installer application from
After installation, and when there is a new version, it will automatically ask you to update the installer.
Important:
When running Setup.exe, it's possible that Windows Defender gives a warning about it and blocks it. In that case, click on "More info" and then on "Run anyway" to continue the installation of the Alien Arena Installer.

The game features a dark sinister atmosphere combined with an off-the-wall campiness, and trippy, techno type music. There are currently over 15 maps, loaded with weapons(each having an alternate firing mode) and powerups.

Is anyone else unable to log in to Alienware Arena? I have 2FA enabled and any time I follow the link from my email or copy the code and each time it just loops me back to the login page, which then again asks for my 2FA, which fails. 2FA emails are taking longer to arrive than previously, if that makes any difference. Can't post on the Alienware forums since I cant actually log in to Alienware. Looking for where I can email them directly but I figure its worth seeing if other people are having the same issue.
