Just in case it is not known, Joomla is a Content Management System written in php.  I can read but not write php.  I use firebug.

On my joomla website, I use 3rd party extension to insert <script src="http://mywebsite:8080/target/target-script-min.js#anonymous"></script> into the head successfully as I can see it by viewing source code on browser.  However, on the "debug client user interface" page, no target is connected.

I am not sure if it is supposed to work or not because I google weinre with joomla and find nothing.  If weinre is not designed for such case, please let me know so that I can stop finding what I did wrong.

Thank you very much for your advice

Savio, you will need to either run a weinre server somewhere, or find a publicly hosted weinre server, and then you should be able to use weinre.

I wrote a blog post on running weinre on a PaaS like Heroku, BlueMix, etc.

There is, at this moment, a publicly hosted weinre server here:

Thank you for your prompt reply.  I did install node.js and npm on my debian server and run weinre server successfully there (the Target Demos on localhost:8080 runs correctly).  Did I?  or target demo just means "step 1"?

I am reading a php book and just know more about the role of "session" of php generated web page.  Do you have any suggested reading for me?  I find the documentation links loop.

Thanks and Regards,
Savio

I guess first I should ask if you need to use weinre, as there are now some better alternatives available for some platforms.  More info here:

Beyond that, I'm not sure what your question is.

Sorry that I have made a stupid mistake.  I forget to add  "iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 8080 -j ACCEPT" to my firewall.

Everything works fine now.
