Dungeon Lords, a game by Vlaada Chvátil, is 5 years old this year! To celebrate, we are making a special anniversary edition.
The adventurers meet in a tavern. They set out for adventure. They go underground to fight Evil. You are that Evil. You are the Dungeon Lord.
This is a game for 2 to 4 aspiring Dungeon Lords. You dig tunnels, mine gold, hire monsters, set traps, and run a proper dungeon. Competition for resources is stiff, and sometimes you have to be a little bit Evil to get what you want. Evil Dungeon Lords attract stronger adventurers. Twice during each game, these adventurers set out to conquer your dungeon. But your monsters and traps can stop them, if you are clever enough. Score points for how well you construct and defend your dungeon. Compete for prestigious titles. Prove you have what it takes to be a Dungeon Lord!
This edition also includes the Festival Season expansion, with more monsters, rooms, and traps for your dungeon, new spells, new paladins, and bards. Special actions enhance the variety of the original game. You now have the chance to acquire pets. And if you still don't have everything you need at the end of the year, you can pick up something extra at the Festival!

Special-Edition Components
These stickers put mushrooms on your Food Tokens, to enhance their healthy greenish glow.
Pointy ears and an impish grin are the mark of a currency you can trust. The Gold Tokens are now made of real metal!
Dungeon Setup Mini-Expansion
This expansion gives you a new perspective at the beginning of the game. Each Dungeon Setup Card depicts a different starting dungeon. Are you ready to establish a dungeon in an abandoned hideout or a natural cave? How about a diamond mine? Now when your imps are digging tunnels, they can also discover underground treasures!
For almost five years, the rules for the "Minions Bearing Gifts" mini-expansion have been available virtually. Now they will be coming to you as part of the "Dungeon Setup" rulebook printed on real paper that you can hold in your hand!

Alternative Special Edition Wooden Case
The special-edition wooden case is available only through this Kickstarter campaign. This alternative box is still being designed by David Cochard. The design will be revealed during the campaign.
We believe the special anniversary edition of Dungeon Lords deserves the best production quality we can afford. Your pledge lets us know that you support our effort to produce a game-and-expansion bundle with graphically enhanced Food Tokens, a plastic box-organizer, and Gold Tokens made from real metal. You can decide for yourself whether you want the special edition wooden case. 4 handy transparent plastic boxes to make the setup easier. They are meant to hold imps, gold, food and damage tokens.
To celebrate the anniversary, we would like to create a short Dungeon Lords story. It would be written by Jason Holt and Vlaada Chvatil, the guys responsible for the funny rulebooks, and drawn by David Cochard whose beautiful pictures defined the entire Dungeon Lords world.
To increase the quality of the game boards and other cardboard pieces, we'll make the cardboard thicker. As thick as the box height allows us to.
Dungeon Lords: Festival Season already includes all the adorable pets that appeared in the Dungeon Petz base game. If we reach this stretch goal, we will add all the pets from Dungeon Petz: Dark Alleys. Get ready for more pets!
The plastic cubes look cool. But these glass cubes will feel cool. If we reach this stretch goal, the Damage Counters will be made of glass. We'll also include glass tokens for Evil Counters. This Stretch level is Kickstarter-only.
Vlaada and Jason are already working on the story. If we reach this level they'll have much more space for all their jokes. Or maybe there will be 2 stories instead of one - we'll see what they can do with the added space.
With every unlocked stretch goal we'll reveal a new one! We have many more ideas.

Vlaada Chvatil
Vlaada Chvátil is known for his unique approach to board-game design. He has created over 20 games, including Through the Ages and Mage Knight (currently ranked #2 and #9 on BoardGameGeek) as well as Galaxy Trucker, Space Alert, Dungeon Petz, and Tash-Kalar. The spectrum of Vlaada's style is so broad that the best way to define a Vlaada-style game is to say that it is one that surprises and delights the players. Dungeon Lords is a perfect example, blending a heavily themed, hard-core board game with a light-hearted style.
David Cochard
David Cochard's paintings can be seen on various board games, many of them published by CGE. He is the creator of the visual world of Dungeon Lords, which is also found in Dungeon Petz. David's perfectionist approach gives our games a fabulous look that is loved by gamers all over the world.

Czech Games Edition has partnered up with Mr. B. Games to help us bring Dungeon Lords Anniversary Edition to Kickstarter. The print production, questions and distribution for Dungeon Lords Anniversary Edition will be handled by Czech Games Edition.
For EU residents and Essen pickups, add 20% VAT. By law, because we will ship rewards from within EU to EU, we have to charge VAT. However, because we ship from the EU, there are no hidden customs or VAT fees you have to pay on the arrival of your package. The price shown with VAT is everything you will have to pay!

This production schedule includes some padding to ensure we can meet these deadlines. Optimistically, we believe that if everything goes well, we will actually be able to ship one month sooner. We'll keep you updated during the campaign and after.

Czech Games Edition is proud to be based in the Czech Republic. Because the vast majority of our components are manufactured in central Europe, we can check on the production quality almost immediately, thus ensuring that it meets our high standards.
The challenge of making games in central Europe is that our games have to travel to the Americas by boat. International shipping may cause minor delays. (We're pretty sure that the pirates of the seven seas would love to get their hands on a copy of this special anniversary edition.)
Partnering with Mr. B. Games in the USA will help with facilitating delivery of games to our USA backers.
Mr. B. Games' previous project, Spurs, was recently delivered on time, as expected. Their 2nd project, Alien Uprising, is slated for a July delivery, 1 month behind schedule.
