Hello to all,

I succesfully installed weewx 3.2.1 on Debian 8 Jessie (with the weewx-x.y.z.tar.gz source) on a Raspberry PI1 B (later I wil do this on my new PI2 B), but I don't see any syslog (or other usefull log) files in folder /var/log.
I installed Raspbian as wel as OSMC PI1 releases with the NOOBS Lite installer.
Can anybody advice me the missing step(s)?

Luc

/var/log/messages on my VM - is it possible you don't have a syslog package installed ?

Hi Vince,

Where would I be without the help of the weewx user group? :-)

I searched the internet, but found nowhere a reference to the syslog package in relation with Jessie.

Just now I installed syslog via:
    sudo apt-get install syslog
this didn't seem to help, followed by:
    sudo apt-get install syslog-ng
Now I see in /var/log the files:
    messages, syslog and user.log

Thanks very much!

Cheers, Luc
