Have been running weewx 3.9.2 for a while now without trouble ... until this morning.  Suddenly cannot post RF updates to WU.

Relevant log entries:

...

puck :: Aug  6 16:21:26 :: user <info> :: weewx[6725]: >>>  engine: Starting up weewx version 3.9.2

puck :: Aug  6 16:21:26 :: user <info> :: weewx[6725]: >>>  engine: Starting main packet loop.
puck :: Aug  6 16:21:26 :: user <crit> :: weewx[6725]: >>>  restx: Wunderground-RF: Unexpected exception of type <class 'ssl.CertificateError'>
puck :: Aug  6 16:21:26 :: user <crit> :: weewx[6725]: >>>  restx: Wunderground-RF: Thread exiting. Reason: hostname 'rtupdate.wunderground.com' doesn't match '*.us-west-2.es.amazonaws.com'

Hostname in certificate has changed???

Here's the nslookup:

weewx@puck [/var/log] $ nslookup rtupdate.wunderground.com
Server:         127.0.0.1
Address:        127.0.0.1#53

Address: 54.186.57.234
Address: 52.24.209.34
Address: 34.211.105.132
rtupdate.wunderground.com       canonical name = prod-pws-ng-ingest-368531364.us-west-2.elb.amazonaws.com.

Well, look at that. Either AWS or WU changed the canonical server name.  Is this anything we can fix on our side?

Thanks,
-pmb-

P.S.: "us-west" has been gone for almost 20 years!

OTBE.  Looks like WU fixed their certificate.  All is well.

Are you still getting this error? It looks like they moved things to AWS.

$ nslookup rtupdate.wunderground.com

Server: 192.168.1.1

Address: 192.168.1.1#53
