Hi -

I've been a weewx user, and "lurker" for several years now; I use rsync to upload files files from a local server to my ISP and publish my weather data at

Someday I'll get ambitious and implement the Belchertown skins; but in the meantime, I've always wanted to grab the rsync metrics from the weewx log and use them to monitor my network performance.

I've started playing around with Claude Code; and so, the other night, I "asked claude".

MANY iterations later, including some sage advice from Tom Keffer about not patching the core; I got this result.

https://github.com/n7qnm/weewx-rsync-metrics.git

Please let me know what you think!

Just skimmed the repo and you have sql commands to add columns, it'd be cleaner to use weectl to add columns then it doesn't matter what backend is being used.

weectl database add-column --type integer rsyncFiles
etc

Lets see a graph and data on a webpage on your site too.  Perhaps cook up an example skin (?)
