Will weewx support the EnviroMonitor IP Gateway in the future?  I want to expand my soil moisture monitoring and the only way I can see to do it with Davis products is to make the jump to the EnviroMonitor hardware.  :(

Thanks,
Doug B.

No explicit plans. I don't see any documentation on their website for whatever protocol it uses. Do you have any more information?

OK, thank you.

I'm starting to investigate the new to me EnviroMonitor hardware & monthly cloud costs.  I assume the EnviroMonitor protocol is quite different from the VP2 since the Davis site states that VP2 wireless communications will not work with the EnviroMonitor hardware.

It would be great if my beloved weewx could support the EM hardware.  However, given the initial cost of the gateway, nodes & sensors I'm guessing it is too expensive for most weather watchers.  I think I can justify the additional expense for the farm given the expanded node network & sensor array.  However the cloud expenses & Davis storing my data are sort of a bummer.

Agree. Too expensive to buy for its limited audience. However, if Davis wanted to give me one... :-)

Ha ha, if I head down this path I could let you borrow one to do some investigation.  ;)

One other little nugget.  The EM IP Gateway will receive data from a VP2 wireless ISS.
