Does anyone have any information on how to interface weewx local weather info into a local raspberry pi aprs gateway using direwolf. Below is example of what I am trying to accomplish.

My assumption is I would need to have a custom report designed to contain only wx data that aprs gateway needs rather than the full complement of data fields that gets sent to my www wx site or weatherunderground etc.

both raspberry pi igate and weewx are on same cat 5 ethernet network so it should be possible to to set up a comm link similar to what works for ftp and or wunderground etc.

As far as I can tell getting a APRS/CWOP passkey for my VE4PER Wx Station should enable a direct inet feed from weewx causing a blue dot with white WX inside icon and CWOP data display,
however I am told in last email from CWOP requesting a passkey and activation of my station that data needs to also be included in iGate for my aprs gateway symbol as well which means a comm link interface between weewx and the raspberry pi direwolf program.
Thanks

I have not actually done this.

I would suggest looking at the service that posts to CWOP over the
internet. It's generating the APRS message, and then will be sending
it via APRS-IS or some cwop servers. Instead (or in addition) I think
you want to connect somehow to direwolf and send that same message
(well, probably with a WIDE1, WIDE2 path instead).

Yes, but that exists (I am 99% sure) in the existing CWOP upload code.

Now I'm not following. direwolf is a soft tnc, so if you are using
that, you would have a radio connected to actually transmit from your
weewx pi.

The real question is if you are ok with internet-only reporting, or if
you want to transmit the reports over the air for survivability.

I suspect with what I've said I've veered off topic enough. I am happy
to answer more questions offlist if that's useful.

I use my weeWx instance to send to APRS-IS - it's the CWOP part of weeWx
that does this, and means I send to AU APRS-IS servers, with my
callsign and passcode.

It turns up on the map. I then pull that info off APRS-IS and broadcast
it with aprx. It's not the way most people do it, but I am happy with
the way it is working.
