Hello,
does anyone using weewx with bigger (lot data) databases? I've about 9 years of weatherdata in mine and now have some memory problems.
Just curious if someone have also such amount of data and can show me their tweaks?

With the weewx-wdc skin i have a lot of oom kills.
Thanks.

What database?

I recently tuned my weeWX DB in MariaDB with almost 2 decades worth of data from over 1.1GB down to about 180MB

Sure, but you'll have to be more specific about your setup.

Sounds like you haven't tuned things to stop them using up too much memory.

Also I recently noticed all my systems had now move lots of things in RAM to swap, setting vm.swappiness = 0 in a sysctl.d/*.conf file stopped that behaviour.

My sqlite database has just short of 2 million rows --- about 20 years of data. It is still very performant.

Sqlite3 db here. I have 1.88 M records since Thanksgiving 2006.  No issues.

I'm using MariaDB with about 9 years of data. Back in the days it was more recommended than sqlite.

I dont made tweaks of the systems. It runs quite well since a couple of month ago.

My weewx installation is on a Debian 13 VM with 2 cores and 4 gb of ram. My MariaDB vm has 2 cores and also 4 gb of ram. Usually thats enough for that "small" systems.
