Weewx on Synology DS213j with Davis VP2?

I'm considering buying a Synology DS213j and was wondering if  it's possible to  run Weewx on it with a Davis VP2.

I know of at least one user who has successfully done this for an Oregon Scientific station. Usually the Davis stations are easier.

If the attraction of the Synology box is price, I've had good experiences with these Mini-ITX systems.

Hi,

The attraction of the synology is related with all of it's capacities, and if in fact, it could run weewx it would be the 'cherry on top of the cake'

I already have a Rpi that I'm considering to use with Weewx instead of my W7 Desktop machine and weatherlink software, but since I'm already in need of a small NAS I was hping I could keep the rpi for other needs :)

Hi Jorge,
I managed to run weewx on my Synology NAS'es DS207 and DS309+II for a TFA Primus station. I published instructions (in Dutch) how to install on a Dutch weather forum.
The last months I run weewx on a RPI for testing purposes. One of our forum members runs two ws28xx type weather station together on one Synology NAS.
Don't know for the Davis station if the installation is any special.

Hi Jorge,

The instructions 'howto install weewx on a Synology Disk Station' is a description of my attempts to get weewx working for my TFA Primus weather station on the Linux platform.

That time I had hardly any knowledge of Linux, the Synology ins and outs, Python and weewx. At last I succeeded to get weewx working on a Synology DS207 and DS209+II.

I didn't get weewx working (yet) for the Python 2.7 package of Synology. In a couple of weeks I have more time and I will try to get it working for my Synology DS211 Disk Station.

When I feel confident enough the instructions are 'bugs free' I will write a wiki for it in English.
