WeeWX and CWOP incomplte setup?

Hi to the goup,

·         I’m a newbie as far as weather stations, Raspberry Pi and software is concerned!

·         My present hardware consists of a weather station model HP2553CA, at this time repeating all acquired data to an app on my mobile to https://www.ecowitt.net/home/index?id=296225  after registering on Ecowitt

·         My station is identified as ZS6VOL (my registered South African call-sign)

·         My requirement is to reflect my weather station on APRS.fi (CWOP)

·         I’ve been partially successful to configure a Raspberry 4B with Bookworm (not Trixie) and WeeWx (latest version) with in mind a server to relay my data. Installation thus far seems good

·         I also now find the following on Findu.com:

·         I have registered with CWOP

·         Enquiry to them resulted in: “There is no data being received from your site. Please complete the setup and verification procedure, Steps 1, 2 and 3. You may seek assistance via the members' discussion group, https://groups.google.com/g/wxqc .”

·         I’m uncertain what the verification procedure, steps 1, 2 and 3 entails

·         What more do I need to do to become active?

·         Any advice in not to technical S/W terminology would be appreciated

You'll have to ask them what steps 1, 2 and 3 are.  They should be pointing you to what web page those steps are.

For weewx all you typically need to do is the CWOP section of weewx.conf and restart weewx to make it take effect. 

    [[CWOP]]
        enable = true
        station = ZS6VOL

You should see something in your logs like:

      INFO weewx.restx: CWOP: Published record 2026-01-05 08:15:00 PST (1767629700)
