SteelSeries Wind Rose Blank

I have upgraded weeWX to 4.5.1 and steelseries to 2.76 and still have the wind rose gauge with no vector plots. The odo works fine and the popup graph for the wind rose gauge shows the wind vectors so it looks like the data it needs to populate the gauge is available but not being plotted for some reason.

Is there a known fix or patch for this? The log files don't contain any errors related to the wind rose or any other function of WeeWX.

The issue is that the SteelSeries skin that generates the gauge-data.txt file does not include windrose data(if you installed the skin via the weewx-steelseries extension it would have hidden the windrose gauge). There is no ‘patch’ that I am aware of. You could install the weewx-realtime_gauge-data extension which does include windrose data. The realtime_gauge-data extension also has the benefit of updating the gauges at your loop interval rather than your archive interval. Note that the realtime_gauge-data extension relies on the SteelSeries skin for the JavaScript and HTML code so do not uninstall the SteelSeries skin, just follow the realtime_gauge-data extension install instructions.

I found and installed a 0.4.0 version and it bought the wind rose online; however, the barometer gauge would quit after around 12 hours. When I installed 0.5.0 this morning, the barometer gauge became functional again on it's own.

Thank You for your quick response and solution. This is also a great opportunity to thank you and Tom for all of the hard work that has gone into WeeWX and it's extensions over the years.

The next 12 hours are the real test now.

Around 30 minutes after I upgraded to 0.5.0 the rain and wind gauges became stuck with bogus values. Bummer.

StackedWindRose   3.0.1 creates a nice rose chart in jpg format, so I have added it to the gauge display as a substitute and removed rtgd 0.5.0 from the system.

Oh well, all of this effort by you and I was worth a try I suppose. The wind rose gauge upgrade was nice while it lasted.
