I managed today to make my new weather station working with weewx, coming from netatmo to ecowitt. It seems much more capable, so I'm happy.

Only I need a little push with, this: How do I make it show the rain gauge. It shows zero though it has been pouring down all day (46mm).

I also would like to add the meassures from the soil moisture sensor WH51. How do I get around that?

You never said what kind of station you have so I can't speculate what your station is emitting, but you need to define field_map_extensions to map what the gateway measures into weewx database elements.

Oh I thought I did.

But your help is much appreciated, and started me to look in the right directions.

I have now set up the rain readouts and the soil actually worked, with another language (which was norwegian as that was my template for my own language, Danish, so I rectified that in my skin).

Only things missing now is the battery indication and a co2 field that is no longer necessary. But that is less important.

Thank you for your help.

When giving up on Netatmo, I got the advice to go for EcoWitt WittBoy WS90 with a GW300 gateway unit attached. So I did, and with help from Vince I succeded installing the GW1000 driver and weewx is up and running. I think it was a good advice, thank you michael

But my weather page from weewx shows the station as "unknown model" and there is some reminiscence of the co2 meassurement from netatmo, that I don't have (yet) from EcoWitt. But if I can get it to work with the apparently best driver, I would expand with the lighting module and the Air Quality module later on.

But I am sure that at least the "Unknown Model" message is due to using the driver meant for GW1000, and not the EcoWitt-http driver that supposedly should cover all the current Weather Stations from EcoWitt.

I have tried Millardiang's Github repo, but the ecowitt-http driver is not to be found, I only see a very short readme (and the GW1000 driver, which believe is the one in use right now. I also tried Werner Krenn's Github repo, but it didn't seem to want to install.

But I found a thread that suggests that Werners version is very popular.

What would be your advice on this?

Cheers

Bent,
You need to select the development branch of the driver I host. It is the original version from the the author Gary Rodericks, in touched apart from a small typo.

With a little difficulties I think I found it. But the readme for package install states: weectl extension install https://github.com/gjr80/weewx-ecowitt_local_http/releases/latest/download/ecowitt_http.zip
But that is not your branch but a link to Gary original github, which is no longer active.

So How should I install the driver properly? I have tried manuallly to copy it and place where the other drivers are, and changed the weewx.conf to reflect that I want the ecowitt_http driver to be used. But I only get some errors (in the log), because I probably do it wrong. An installer would probably be much better, or a step by step guidance as to how it is done.

And since I have the GW3000 I would want to have the backfill feature working (I can actually see today that there are gaps in this nights meassurements, and would be awesome to have backfilled). https://rumoclock.dk/weewx

You can determine the correct filename from the github web interface.

Go to the github site.  Select the correct branch.  Click the 'Code' button and there is a 'download zip' pick.  Right click that to copy the filename of a zip archive of the code.  Then paste it into your weectl extension install command....
