Hello!

I have installed WeeWX to Raspberry Pi 4 with a serial hat and have not successfully established connection to Vantage Pro console. My Vantage Pro console is quite old, from year 2003, so it is Pro, not Pro2. I started to suspect that is it possible that WeeWX only supports Vantage Pro2?

I recall a few others using an original Vantage Pro (the API is essentially identical), so WeeWX should work just fine.

Have you been able to establish connectivity and run the "TEST" test? It is independent of WeeWX, so it's a pure connectivity test. See the User's Guide for instructions.

Thanks. I have not done that “TEST” test (saw it in User Guide). I will troubleshoot connectivity more, just wanted to be sure that this “old VP console” is not the cause.

I am one of those running WeeWX 3.9.2 on a headless Pi with an non-2 Pro (2004 firmware) using a cheap USB-serial converter between the Pi and console.  Although I've since tweaked the .conf files, everything ran fine out of the box with just the defaults.  The only two items of note are that the USB-serial had to be plugged in before running the WeeWX setup, and it took a long time (hours?) before WeeWX completed dumping the data logger and started posting data to the web.
