Weewx and wmr300 no rain accumulation

Hi all,

I am using for some time weewx  on my wmr300 Oregon scientific meteo station . I am on all updates running weewx 4.5.1 and Belchertown skin.

From some time my rain rate is indicating :

Wind	0.7 m/s from 59° (ENE)
Rain Rate	1.5 mm/h
Inside Temperature	24.3°C

but on accumulated values is only showing zero

Today's Rain	0.0 mm
High Rain Rate	3.3 mm/h at 08:45:00
High Wind	2.1 m/s from 87° at 03:30:00

in the logs I found an indication

INFO weewx.engine: Starting main packet loop.

How can I solve the problem ?

See if http://www.weewx.com/docs/hardware.htm#wmr300_notes helps any to at least explain things from the weewx perspective. The steps to manually reset the counter is not documented there, unfortunately, but it might vary based on whether you're running some kind of variant of that model station.

A quick google search found https://images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/F1L6oj92V1S.pdf which 'seems' to be the manual for your station.  Look on page 9 under 'accumulated rainfall' and see if that procedure works for you.

Hi Paul,

that line is red is the clue - the only rain value logged by the device is the accumulated measurement.

The counter has an internal limit that you have reached (10 metres), which Oregon in their wisdom decided would be enough for anybody.

We know of no software method to reset the value, so you need to consult the manual to use the touchpad on the console to reset the counter.

Looks like it discarded my post - apologies if this gets duplicated.

Of course, stop weewx while doing the reset.

In case you can't find the manual, the reset process is:

press the "rain" area on the console 2 or 3 times until it shows "accumulated" rainfall.  The date area will show you when the counter was started.

At this stage there will be a "mem" button on the bottom row.  Press and hold that until the accumulated rainfall shows zero.

restart weewx, and the log should now tell you  " possible missed rain event: new=0.0 old=None".

I just did this myself as an experiment.
