MySql deadlock stopping Weewx

Intermittently (not every night) my last entries are at 2355hrs.
Checking the log I find this

My initial searching suggests this may be a bug, but my knowledge of databases is very poor, so I will leave that decision to others.
What workarounds can be suggested to restart the station without my intervention?
